Back to the drawing board
I found I was running out of information...
I hadn’t realised until I started painting that I was including a lot of detail in my drawings that would be hidden in the painting – essentially I’m having to make twice as many drawings as I would normally do. So I had to call Lena back to make some more sketches – this time I made two sketches on each sheet. Not so much to save paper, more so I have a simpler range of colours to use for each session on the painting. (Eventually I will get to a stage where I start differentiating between the foreground and the background again, but for the moment I’m wanting to bring them into a closer relationship.)
